When we bought our house there was a chain link fence. Our older two dogs (bailey the bassett, and Jefe the min pin/mix) were too large to ever get under a fence. Then we brought Preston home. He was in our neighbors yard daily for about two weeks. (thank goodness he was an extended family member! lol) Anyway, we tried several things, and finally ended up getting chicken wire, attaching it with wires, and left it just long enough that it was bent over at the bottom to encourage him not to dig. It worked out great. Now he is too big to get under the fence, but Paisley easily could, but never has because the chicken wire is still there. I would suggest attaching with staples (they can easily be removed later) and leave long enough to bend over to lay against the ground also. Only thing is, be sure when cutting the chicken wire to bend the cut pieces back on themselves so they are not sharp.
