I need some more opinions! Okay, so I walked into the store and the assistant manager greeted me and told me that the other manager had been talking about me and was excited about me. She then told me that the district manager wasn't there yet and that she should be there shortly. I said okay and chatted with her and looked around the store. She decided to call and find out where she was. She got the DM on the phone and told her that I was there and the DM told her to hand me the phone because she was just going to do the interview over the phone.
That really threw me for a loop. I feel like my interview didn't go that great because of it. #1 I am not a big phone talker #2 I HATE talking on the phone in front of other people. It was really tough because you can't read peoples emotions over the phone and it feels so impersonal. I was standing there in middle of the store answering personal questions in front of the assistant manager and customers. I don't think I did near as good of job with this interview as the first because I felt so uncomfortable. The interview with the store manager was great and I even had a great chat with the assistant manager before I talked to the DM on the phone.
Does anyone think I still have a good chance of getting the job based on the interview with the store manager and the fact that I got along great with her and the assistant manager? Also, would anyone else be bothered by the fact that the DM didn't show up and did the interview over the phone? I feel like maybe I am making too big a deal out of it but it is really bothering me. What do you think?
