UTI's usually respond to either Clavamox or Baytril so most vets will prescribe one of the two right away as cultures can take a week to grow. Most UTI's are caused by E-coli which is very resistant to antibiotics so sometimes it is necessary to do a culture. Lady had a UTI a few years ago that was stubborn to clear up. It turned out she needed Tetracyline in addition to Clavamox because she had two different strains of bacteria. |
So... I gave her 1 pill on Monday afternoon (when I took her to the vet) and then yesterday I gave her 2 and then today I've given her 1 so far. You're saying it should already be working? How much longer should I give it before I take her back to the vet?
I just don't want to take her back and seem overly worrisome and them get mad because I'm not giving it time, the vets up there always act like I'm stupid or that I worry too much anyway.
