My 8 yr old and 1 yr old do these tricks:
Sit, down, shake, play dead when shot, high five, army crawl, dancing in circles on hind legs, limbo ( hopping on hind legs with front paws in the air) , give kisses, leave it, jump through hoops, sit pretty, pretty "touch" ( sit pretty and lightly touch my hand at the same time) bow, roll over, and my favorite, wave bye-bye. Wave bye bye is so cute, cracks me up every time! To teach wave bye -bye, put your hand out like you want them to shake and say bye bye instead, when they raise the paw to put in your hand, move your hand and wave while saying bye bye. The play dead is super easy if they know roll over, I use a clicker and when they would lay down I would put the treat just above and off to the side so they would have to roll onto thier side to see it, as soon as they are on thier side, CLICK & TREAT. Make sure you use the bang sound and/or hand gesture, so they can make the connection and distinguish it between the roll over. We call this having school, all I have to say is "Is it time for school, or what time is it?" They go ballistic! My new Yorkie, Rita (rehomed to me at 6 yrs old three weeks ago) is observing mostly right now but she is learning to sit, gotta start somewhere. I have pictures of "school" in my album, take a look at how intent they all are watching for my hand signal.
Good luck with your trick training, I get a kick out of and the pups love the stimulation to the mind. Plus they love to please!
