Hey how come no one mentioned buffets??? That's my specialty! I've tried pretty much every single one. My favs are at the Rio (not the all seafood one, that one is pretty expensive and not that great, and i looooove seafood, but it's not too fresh, yuck!) It's the regular one, very reasonably priced. And to splurge at the Wynn buffet. You can go for monday lunch before you leave if you have time. It's much cheaper than a weekend price, but still get lots of higher end foods. (It is one of the most expensive buffets regardless though)
Last time I went to Vegas about a year ago, we went back to the Rio prob about 3 times.

If you want something cheap, go to Circus Circus and there is a little hotdog stand where you can get a footlong for $1!

Oh if you go to the outlet shopping at state line make sure you go on the big rollercoaster at buffalo bills (if it's still called that). It's way better than the roller coaster at Stratosphere; that one is so not scary, and it's expensive! You have to pay to get to the top of the tower, then again for the rides. It comes out to like $13 total each person if I remember correctly.

You can always ask the locals, those are always the best spots, but since it's your first time you should stick with the touristy things! (Like buying a yardlong plastic bottle of booze and wear it around your neck! You'll know what I mean when you get there!

Have fun!!!
