Great thread! I would have thought it was heartless to give up your dogs after they are "used up", but I see now that it doesn't work that way.
I am the second human mommy to Thor, and I believe that loves his new home and his new human just as much (*cough* more *cough*) as his first. I think one of the wonderful things about dogs is how adaptable they are. That's why rescues work.
