You boil chicken in a big pot of water on the stove. Bring it to a boil and then simmer it until done. A whole chicken can take a few hours, one breast maybe 20 minutes.
Spike is very picky about treats too. The only 2 he never turns down are Yorkie Yummies and dehydrated sweet potato fries. You'll eventually stumble upon something he loves.
ETA: Since the chicken is for a dog, skinless is best.
