Yes, that was what she needed per day but not all dogs will need that many.
It is best to just increase and decrease by looking at your dog.
What recipe are you using?
Most of the recipes on YT are not balanced and should not be used for daily feeding. |
It's very simple...it's just equal parts chicken (that I food process to small bites), organic brown rice and green beans and broccoli. He has been eating about 1 cup / day ~ 1/2 cup in the morning and 1/2 cup in the evening. I sprinkle 1 capsule cosequin over his breakfast meal and he takes a multi vitamin in the evening with his meal. He has been so healthy since we started this - always a bit chubby, even before....but the happiest, sweetest little thing ever. When I was giving him commercial food he was always having GI problems and we were making trips to the vet, having to put him on the Hills ID, antibiotics and antacids. This is very bland and seems so much better for him. He has always tended to be a litlle chubby, but runs and plays with the best of them and has a beautiful floor length coat...I just don't want him to get too chubby and have problems down the road. We just had our little female at UT where she had her liver shunt repaired and they also diagnosed her with luxating patella in both back knees, so anything we can head off with him, we will try. These babies can sure steal your hearts!
