A fox has always been slang for a very pretty lady! "She's a fox, or foxy lady." So take it as a compliment!
Pretty little Tia does have a pointy snout which sort of reminds of a fox. Check this out:

All we can do is take uneducated comments and try to see the positive side or turn them into something humorous. We cannot let anyone's thoughtless comments upset us -- we are the lucky ones to own a Yorkie!
