I do like that most of you on this forum have clued into 'teacups'. I don't like the breeding going on with no mentors no help and some poor little female is due to have puppies whose owner has no idea how to care for or how to recognize if there is a problem which could cost her life and/or that of her pups. Anything can go wrong in experienced hands but it sure helps if you know what you are looking at and if you have a mentor and good Vet you work with to help.
I am rather distressed at some of the threads from puppy owners that really don't have a clue and I feel rather sorry for their pet. Although that is not totally i guess the fault of the owner, it is obvious they bought from someone who told them nothing about what to expect from Yorkies or being a Yorkie owner. They can be a difficult breed to own especially when they are sold too young. They take time, patience and an owner who is around a good part of the time.
Many are people I would never consider selling to, but then there are people that enquire for puppies or dogs from me who are not on this forum that I won't sell to either. Sooooo maybe the forum isn't that different from what's out there in the world but in my opinion, it is not the place to find a puppy nor is it a place to sell a puppy.
As I also mentioned before, many posts shouldn't be here but should be questions or concerns addressed by a Vet or the breeder the pup or dog was bought from.
So, what am I doing here? Well sometimes i ask myself that and often I take a long time away from it. But when I do get involved, I post because I figure if I have helped just one person and/or one dog or pup and was able to direct someone on how to find a puppy or dog and away from bad breeders then Iguess it is worth it.

I agree with many of your points Lorraine. In an ideal world everyone would know better and do the right thing. But this is reality and people are going to behave in a way that may not always make sense in a logical way. They want that cute little yorkie even if they don't really know what they are getting into. They don't really know why they should get a dog from a good breeder that cost $2000, when they can get elsewhere for $900.

Also, many reputable breeders will not sell them a dog so they have no choice. But because they want one, they are going to get one anyway and that's reality. You, being a knowledgeable reputable breeder are in the unique position of helping guide these people to a better path. Running from it doesn't make these people change, only educating them does. So I encourage you to fight the good fight because not only do these owners need you but their dogs do as well.
