Both of my males had to wear the E-Collar after they were neutered. Sammy wore his for 3 months. He chewed all his sutures out right after surgery and thank God he was still on the floor and they saw him bleeding. He had to be put back under and restitched. Then I thought he was safe @ home if I watched him. NOPE...He chewed the stitches and He had to wear it for 3 months Because, He pulled the inside stitches outside. I finally cut them myself and took off the E-Collar. Baron was just done May 12th...He too would not leave it alone and licked the outside glue off and the surgery site opened up so that you could see the stitches. The outside has been healed close for 2 days But, I still put it on him @ night or when we go away . Keep a very close eye on him, they are quick... Or my 2 were just weird...LOL
