My daughters finance works as a groomer but let me tell you what he did, He got out the phone book and called every groomer around his town, he asked if any were looking for help, he found a lady who took him on as an apprentice , he basicly started by washing dogs, brushing them out , clipping nails etc.. that was a few years ago, now he is a groomer on his own in her salon and has his own clients.. he makes 14 dollars and hour and about 75 dollars a day in tips.. but I have to tell you this is boston and for my yorkie puppy if I had to pay it would be 50.00 , for a full grown dog with an undercoat its anywhere between 100.00-125.00 !! So if I were you , Id look around and see if any one would like a helper and learn while you train...
