APRI stands for America's Pet Registry Inc, and was started by commercial breeders, so basically, you are saying "puppy mill registry". Backyard breeders are also buying the dogs because they come with breeding rights. I'm not saying that a dog you get from them won't be adorable; I think all dogs are adorable, but if you are looking to breed in the future, you should only breed dogs that meet standard. Ethical breeders don't automatically give breeding rights, they know only certain dogs should be bred, and they believe you need education before you start breeding. If you are looking to breed in the future, many people think it's best to find a mentor.
