Default Bloated Stomach and Weight Gain

We have a 5 year old spayed female Yorkie. Last Wed we noticed that her stomach was very bloated and hard. We weighed her and she gained about a pound. The vet was not available on Thur so we waited till Friday to get her checked out. After spending $200 on tests the vet had no clue what is wrong. By the time she left the vet her stomach was way down and the vet basically thought we were nuts and she was just getting fat. Today is now Sunday and her stomach is bloated again. Her eating habits have not changed and we have not changed her food in the past couple of months. She seems almost normal except for the big stomach. Her weight over the past couple of days has fluctuated between 7.8 to 8.4. She was playing with the kids today and racing around the yard - normally she wins every time but not today, she seemed a step slow. She still seems to have a good appetite. The vet did say that her liver blood work was off but had no explanation other then we needed to retest in a couple of weeks. Thanks for any help or suggestions, we are worried about here but don't know what to do - we don't want to keep taking a healthy acting dog to the vet if there is nothing wrong or she just has an upset stomach!
