Hi Jenn.
I haven't been on here for awhile so I just sort of skimmed to catch up on the gist of all of the posts on this.
I hope your new baby is adjusting well to your home.
I wouldn't be too concerned about the fact that he seemed shy at the breeder's home. It has been my experience that any personality traits shown by a puppy when you are meeting them at the breeder lean toward the shy and scared side. Syd was friendly and playful at the breeder like the girl puppy you meet there is and now a strong-willed holy terror. If he seemed shy he will probably grow up to be a sweet-tempered calm dog. And wouldn't we all love one like that.
Also don't be discouraged by other's people's opionion of how much free time you have to have to get a yorkie.
I've posted about this before...but my fiance and I have 2 jobs each. We each work a total of 60 hours a week. Syd is alone for 8.5 hours Mon-Thurs. with a break at lunch when I come home. And Fri. for 10 hours with a break at lunch and dinner when I come home.
We have done this since we got her and she is completely used to it. She gets human interaction from either 1 or both of us for at least 7 hours every day except for Fridays. She is happy, healthy and well loved.
Busy people can have Yorkies too....just like busy people can have babies...not all of us are cut out to be stay at home moms.
