I wanted to add this, but it wouldnt let me so heres another post

Think of potty training in like you do with a child. A baby cant control their bodily functions up until a certain age..and then even after they are starting to be potty trained..they have accidents in their diapers and we don't punish them for it. So.. You should pick one training method... Like pad training.. if he has an accident..and you SEE him in the action, say no, place him on the pad and say potty..he will eventually associate them together.. if you then want to move him to the outside..move the pad closer ot the door..eventually out the door.. and then eventually you wont even have to have a pad outside.. Dont try to pad train and outside train, it makes them confused. If you don't see him in the action of going..use that as a lesson learned, that he wasn't supervised enough.. kinda like if a kid marks all over the walls..you can tell them no, but you can't really truly spank them or something b/c you werent watching them closely enough.
Just gotta teach them everything you want them to do.. and yorkies are very loyal, and want to please their owners.. I think the first few months are the hardest.
