I bought her for my Mom, who had always wanted a Yorkie, and was basically homebound as she had had a stroke in March of 2004. She was so excited about getting Bonnie, she just wanted someone to sit in her lap that she could love and take care of. She looked forward to brushing her hair and dressing her! We had to wait a little over a month before we could get her, because she had to wean the only surviving puppy, then be spayed. Unfortunately, my Mom had a heart attack and died before we could bring Bonnie home, but she was already her baby in her heart, she had pictures of her at the hospital. She asked my 16 yr old son if he would take care of Bonnie if she didn't come home, of course he said yes, so we picked her up the week after burying my Mom. It was funny because immediately we noticed things about her personality that reminded us of Mom. One of her favorite things to do is go to my husband and sons softball games. When she sees the jerseys she gets all excited, and there is nothing my Mom loved more than going to a ballgame! She has definently helped us while grieving for my Mom. At first I thought she would be my son's dog, but she immediately became attached to me, she is my velcro baby!
You've touched my heart with your story... I know your Mom is enjoying your little Bonnie as much as you are.
