I am allergic to both dogs and cats, cats more than dogs. I took allergy shots for several years and take allergy medicine. I no longer have to take the shots, just the allergy medicine and I am fine with it.
Dander is the main cause for allergies. They make shampoos to cut down the dander and if you feed a supplement for shedding that helps as well. But it still may never be enough if he is highly allergic.
I love Goldens, they are such sweet, gentle dogs!! If you were closer I would take her.

The doctor said there is no shot for him for dogs. I don't know if there isn's one at all or just because of his age.
