I'm sorry this happened to you. However dogs are not people so you don't have to worry about them mentally having problems. However the sad thing is if the parents have recessive genes, oh boy, passes them on to the litter and 2 littermates breed? Tons of problems.
I knew only one woman in my own lifetime of Goldens that did a inbreeding. She was a show/breeder for over 25 years. The entire pedigree was her own dogs. I never believed in it myself. Simply because recessive genes are just that, recessive, not seen. Double them and look out
