Have you tried a flat ceramic sandwich plate or saucer? This might help since it is flat and would simulate more like eating off the floor.
I just switched Millies's dry food to Chicken Soup for dogs and I though I would have to transition her into this from her old food, but she loved it so much, 1st time eating it, she actually ate around the old food. so if you have not tried this brand I might give it a try. I was very suprised how much she liked it.
