I have two yorkies that I just had to take in because of diarrhea and vomiting. Our vet said gastroentinitis also. We brought a stool sample but it was too liquid to test and was inconclusive. She gave us cerenia for nausea and sulfaslazine for diarrhea. We kept them off all food for 24 hours and just gave them small amounts of diluted chicken broth and water throughout the day to keep them hydrated. The next day rice and boiled chicken (I mashed up the rice a little because it seemed like my pups were eating too fast and choking on it). 3rd day small amounts of regular food with some of the rice and chicken mixed in it and finally today they are back on small portions of regular food several times a day. We still have them on medicine and they seem to be doing really well. Our vet said we would have to treat it symptomatically since they were unable to determine exactly what they had other then tummy issues. Hopefully your is feeling better soon!
