Never heard double 8 weeks and add a pound. I have always heard the double 12 weeks or triple 8 weeks and that has been fairly consistent with mine. There is also a puppy growth chart you can use for guesstimates: Yorkshire Terrier - Yorkie Puppy Growth/Weight Chart - watch us grow
