If he's going to be left on his own for several hours, then a crate may not be the best option. An ex-pen, specially designed for dogs, is a great, safe option.

Have you decided on a name yet? Please post some pictures when you can. Good Luck and don't hesitate to ask questions, there are so very many knowledgeable people here.

His name is Osito. It means little bear in Spanish. When I saw him with his siblings he stood out to me because of his face. Even though he was not the smallest one in his litter (I originally wanted a "tea cup" sized yorkie), I fell in love with him. I have no regrets!

So far, I have left him in his kennel, and let him roam the house every now and then when I can watch him. I will be getting an x pen soon, that way he can roam around in it and get potty trained.

I hear that potty training a yorkie is quite difficult, so hopefully he's a fast learner :P Either way I will give him all the love and patience.
