I am really sad as I am writing these lines. My new puppy, Mojo, is going back to the breeders we got him from.
Today we brought him to the vet for his first check up. The health of the puppy is fine, but he doesn't appear to be a purebreed yorkshire terrier (as the breeders indicated).
We purchased him not only as another pet, but also for a possibility to breed him with our baby Lulu. When breeding, it's important for the male to be smaller than the female. Well, at 10 weeks Mojo is 3.10 Lb and Lulu is 4 Lb. at 5 months. And since he doesn't appear as a purebreed, but as a mix of some sort (and we're not sure what kind of a mix), the puppies won't be purebreed also, of course.
So we contacted the breeders, and I'll be returning him home tonight. I am very sad, as Mojo is a very cute puppy, but am also grateful that we haven't gotten too attached to him yet. I really hope he will find a good forever home.
