I'm glad you fed them. Who would have the heart to just let them wander around starving looking for a place of shelter and food. I'd try to find a good home for them and if no luck by the time you leave for your trip you can try a no kill shelter. Post some flyers at your vets office, grocery store and anyplace else that will let you. Even the laundry mat is a good place. While people are waiting for the clothes to wash and dry they pretty much read anything and everything! I'd also try to keep them as a pair since they seem to be so attached. Good luck and I really feel for these poor little dogs.
