It sounds like the right age. Cash went for his neuter, teeth and microchip when he was about 6/7 months old.
June is going for her teeth, microchip and dew claw removal at 6 months.

Cash still has his dewclaws, but I am having June's removed since the nails show a tendency to grow into the skin. I cut their nails every two weeks and I noticed these hook-like nails. So, off they go. I don't want them to get caught on something or the nails to grow into the skin.
