MustangBee--Thx for taking the time to try to help find that info out for me!

I actually posted a message on another site that one of the members from here referred me to and I was given some names of animal hospitals. I plan to call them all tomorrow and look into their qualifications.
Just incase anyone is interested and lives in NY, I am listing the hospitals below along with the information that was given with each place:
The Center for Specialized Veterinary Medicine http://vetspecialist.com/newsite/
- Nassau County
(One of the many departments they have at this hospital is a Holistic Healing department. There is an animal Acupuncturist Veterinarian working there.)
The Animal Medical Center http://www.amcny.org/asp/homepage/default.asp
- A renowned training hospital in Manhattan
Cornell Veterinary Hospital http://www.vet.cornell.edu/hospital/
- one of the best Veterinary schools in the country and also a renowned training hospital
- upstate New York
(Three people recommended Cornell Veterinarian Hospital to me so far.)
I was also told that Dr. Wen is excellent. He is a Holistic Vet.
Hampton Veterinary Hospital
Dr. Jiu Jia Wen, DVM Masters from China
176 Montauk Hwy.
Speonk, NY 11972
(631) 325-1611

Incase anyone is interested, I took my dog to the hospital below for his recent series of tests:
Long Island Veterinarian Specialists http://www.livs.org/
It is in Plainview, NY (Nassau County)
Charlie saw Dr. Marino, the Director of Surgery. It seems like an excellent animal hospital with many different specialists working there in all different areas of medicine. They also have a great Physical Therapy Dept. (A friend took her dog there for P.T. after surgery and was very pleased. She said at one point, they put her dog on a doggie treadmill under water, so it's easier on their joints and they also get a better workout underwater.) Another one of the many departments they have at this hospital is a Holistic Healing department. There is an animal Acupuncturist Veterinarian working there.
I was also given this recommendation:
Angel’s Gate Hospice and Animal Rehabilitation Center http://www.angelsgate.org/
[U]
Someone also told me about the following helpful directories that helps you locate each type of Veterinarian in different countries[/B]:
Wholistic Vets

Chiropractic Vets

Vet Acupuncturists

If anyone knows of any other places in New York for me, please post it. I am also looking for a new regular Vet for my dog. I would travel anywhere for a good surgeon to give a second opinion and possibly to the surgery if I decide to go ahead with it, but for his regular Veterinarian, I would like her/him to be nearby. I live in Suffolk County, on Long Island. Of course I found several regular Veterinary offices in my area through the phone directory, but I would feel better if I am referred to one by someone who actually brings their pet there.
Thanks!
