I would get a second opinion before even considering amputation. My friends pomeranian had a similar break and after six weeks of casting the bones were not mending well. She opted for surgery to have a plate and screws put in. He is fine now and has not had anymore problems in the last 2 years. The only thing the vet said is that when he gets older his leg may turn out a little bit, but not enough to cause any problems. |
