I don't know if dogs can get it, but my cat has a condition where he gets crystals that build up in his bladder and cause blockage. They are not stones per say. They are called struvite crystals I beleive. He requires special food and can not have anything else. Not even treats of any kind. They told me it is worse in males. He was diagnosed in 1996 and is alive and well. He turned 15 this year. Make sure this isn't let go too long. They can die from not going pee.
