Ask them what is wrong and what they will be doing about it and what their plan is, just keep asking until you fully understand what has happened, happening and going to happen to your little one. Don't be afraid to say - I don't understand - can you explain?
Veterinary services are not cheap and they should be offering this to you without asking. I'd also suggest asking them to give you an update before you see Munchie (great name) so that you aren't distracted by her and you can give her your full attention when you do see her.
