Your vet is an actual DVM, right? Maybe he is giving fluids subcutaneously rather than with an IV? **This I DO know. Kilo absolutely must get fluids into him SOME way.** The good thing is, your vet must know that too...it's so basic.
I've never had a dog with pancreatitis, so I know next to nothing about it. I have read that they have painful abdomens with an attack, which you said Kilo didn't have? Pancreatitis is an inflammation of the pancreas, which I found at this simple layman's link: Dog Pancreatitis
I'm assuming little Kilo has all his shots...Parvo, Distemper, etc...right? Maybe he really does have an infection from putting God knows what in his little tummy during his outside adventures.
I hope an actual expert will come along soon, with some concrete help to offer... |
as far as I know he is an actual DVM but I never asked for credentials.

We have friends very active in the animal welfare movement (which is rare here) and who organize spay/nueter clinics for local pets. They said that the vet we took Kilo to is one of 2 vets they trust absolutely here, so I'll go with that.
Also, no, he had NO tender tummy - and at the vet, he was palpating his tummy and Kilo had no reaction whatever. So I suppose he must have been looking for that also. I'm going for a run and then heading over (they open for clients at 9am) to see what is going on. Oh, and yes, he has had all his shots as well as monthly heartworm (it is epidemic here as you can imagine with the constant mozzies) and got his rabies shot about 20 days ago (last in the series).
Thanks so much.
