She is really 8 ounces? I have never heard of an adult Yorkie that small. Thankful you have come to her aid. They do make prescription diet foods that are high calorie just for gaining weight. I think both Iams and Science Diet make them and the vet's offices usually carry them. I would definately keep the Nutri-cal on hand too! Nutri-cal is a high calorie supplement that can also stimulate the appetite. I would probably ask the vet about giving it daily or twice a day for a while to help. You might want to addd some goat's milk to her diet. It can help her gain weight and is easy to digest. I mixed it half/half with water for my puppies, but she might want a stronger mix to help gain quicker. Is she extra tiny built? In other words, is she really underweight, or is she just extremely tiny to begin with? I am sorry to ask so many questions, I am just extra curious as I have never heard of one this small.
