The problem that I have with the Diamond Dog Food Company is that they were AWARE of the problem long before they recalled the food. We were feeding the Lamb and Rice forumula to our Boxer (which was not affected), but our local feed dealer called us and warned us abou the recall. Robert, our Feed Dealer, told us that Daimond had them the schedule to pick up the contaminated food and would replace it with "good" food, but would not give them a refund. So our poor little family owned feed dealer was stuck with a huge supply of Daimond Dog Food that no one would buy.
So for those two reasons, the fact that they didn't act quickly and decisively to remove the contaminated food and warn the public AND because of the way they treated our dealer -- I will not buy their products or any product that I know is produced at one of their plants. |
