I have read that the ear should be trimmed like the one in the link that Baron put up. When we first got Reagan, however, a friend of my MIL had a yorkie and showed me how she cut her's ears and she did just a straight line. She did Reagan's for me that day and ever since I've been cutting them the same way. It works for us, I don't think its the proper way but its a lot easier(I think) than cutting out the V/diamond shape. I just lay my finger down where I want the line and shave up. Its goes pretty quick.
