Wow that must have been hard for you, I think you are right, and this is what buddy needed to feel safe. I've read a little about dogs feeling best on the floor next to the bed, but Joey's a snuggler at night and it wouldn't be easy for me to give up this part. I baby-sit for my sons' dogs, and they both are crated overnight, we watch a little TV in bed, but they are clearly happier in their own crates, after a period of time. Archie needed to know you clearly are the master, and feels the best when the lines aren't blurred. I know when raising children, what might seem too strict to a parent, is just what makes the child feel safe and protected. I guess dogs go through life stages, just as humans do. |
