Two years ago I bought a condo and I too was renting a house that had a big yard. Laya made the transition just fine. She runs around like crazy inside, I walk her outside, and she has always used a potty pad anyway. She will go outside also but prefers her pad. She doesn't seem to miss it at all. It worked well for us. I hope it will for you too. I know what you mean about putting money in someone else's pocket!!!
