Last summer I left my 16 week old puppy with my DH for a few days. He put Piper in her x-pen outside in the August afternoon sun with no water and started putt putting in the yard. An hour later he goes to go in the house and he notices that Piper is just lying in her pen. She was also throwing up and listless. He knew immediately she was over heated and put her in cool water and gave her some nutrical (at least he remembered what I told him about that) and rushed her to the vets. Time she was seen by the vet she was back to normal. Piper really gave him a scare. He just didn't realize how vulnerable these babies are.
