Be sure the vet is using Isoflurane or sevoflurane (gas inhalant anesthesia). ASK!

DO pre-op bloodwork especially Liver Enzymes (ALT,AST, Alkaline Phosphatase)

Yorkies in general don't handle anesthesia well and can have problems (use gas inhalants only) especially those weighing less than 4.5 pounds.

Not a good idea to piggyback procedures. A spay is considered major abdominal surgery.
