Lodon01 is right. I've still occassionally found a couple ticks on my girls even after applying frontline, however, they are dead. It's just that they get stuck on their hair so it's hard for them to fall off after they die.

I usually give them a good brushing at the foyer or on the porch right when it's time to go in. You may want to try that.
Are you noticing whether they are still alive or dead after you apply? If alive, you may want to consult your vet & let them apply the treatment next time to see if that helps.
