I would really like to litter box train our new pups. When I was young we had a mini schnauzer that was litter box trained but would also potty outside. I am going to buy everything next weekend but my main concern is the litter. My dad used plain cat litter and I know they use dog litter now. I am worried that whatever I use, if they eat it they may get sick. The lady at the pet store told me the dog litter absorbs the pee which means the litter swells. If my pup eats it can it cause damage because it will swell in their tummy? What litter is reccommended. My friend tried to litter train their dog with cat litter and they ate it making them throw up all he time. I just want to get something safe.Any ideas?
