Your baby is adorable but your to answer your question, the YTCA frowns on anyone using the term 'teacup' or 'doll face' in describing their yorkies for sale.
It is right here in their code of ethics:
Yorkshire Terrier Club of America Code of Ethics Quote:
9) A member’s advertising:
- shall be professional in appearance and location;
- shall not refer to YTCA membership to attempt to enhance integrity or the quality of stock;
- shall not contain any misleading photograph or other graphic materials; and - shall not use terms as “teacup”, “tiny specialists”, doll faced, or similar terminology. |
In general conversation I think we all use that term in describing a yorkie with a short muzzle. The reason most show breeders do not intentionally breed for the short muzzle is because often to get the short muzzle you end up with a underbite and that is undesirable. Personally the term 'teacup' does not bother me, to me it just describes a small yorkie but I know some people get all bent out of shape over that term.
