Not sure which provides the best overall nutrition, but if the dog doesn't eat it, it provides NO nutrition. Our new puppy was on Royal Canin also, but then stopped eating it. We tried some sample packs of other puppy foods but she would only eat what the other (adult) dogs were eating. We finally put them all on Nature's Variety Prairie Chicken & Brown Rice formula and they are doing fine. It's formulated for all life stages and was recommened to me by someone that I feel is very knowledgeable about dog food and nutrition (she actually recommended either Innova regular formula or the Nature's Variety Prairie). So far so good, and the puppy loves it. There will be many different opinions and suggestions, but I would suggest using what the puppy/dog will actually eat.
