Is your other dog a yorkie? I have had dogs all my life, and we always bring the new ones home to their new home to meet for the first time and it has always worked out. Maybe with 2 big dogs it would be different, but, we even brought our german shepherd home as a pup and introduced her to the golden retriever(she was over a year at the time) and never a problem. I could probably see neutral grounds only if it were 2 adult dogs or if you had a mean dog already, which then I wouldn't even get another dog, or more like I would never have a mean dog period.
