 training for grooming
Try only grooming on a table. Start with just being on the table and getting treats for standing calmly. Progress to light combing and treats for good behavior. As he gets calmer, have noises near him on table like a blow dryer, clippers, ect. Verbal corrections for undesirable behavior only. Use lots of praise but do not reward any snapping, growling or so on. Do not take him off the table while he is doing any of this sort of thing. Make sure you start with really brief periods of time and always end on success
