Default Eye swollen shut

I came home this evening to find my 1-year-old Yorkie, Blake, as happy and full of energy as usual--but one of her eyes was completely swollen shut and the hair all around it looked matted.

I wiped her eye several times with a cloth and warm water and now it's open about 3/4, but there was yellow mucous (or something) all around the eye and in her hair. If she seemed lethargic or anything, I would have taken her to the emergency vet, but her attitude is fine--despite having only one eye to see out of for hours.

Has anyone had an experience like this with their Yorkie? I'm trying not to freak out but I'm so worried. I'm going to bring her to the vet tomorrow, but I'm wondering if there's anything I can do for her tonight.

Any advice would be appreciated...
