I've been going to the same vet for 30 years or so. I think he's a wonderful, kind man...I trust his heart. I trust his experience. I believe he's keeping up with current research, though I have no way to be totally sure about that.
Unfortunately, he sold his practice to one of those chains and things have gone downhill since then. Just to name one thing that's awful...now they no longer take after hours emergencies. I'd have to go several towns away to stay within their system. Yeah, right. If I have a true emergency I'll go to the closest place I can find.
Though my great vet still works there, everything has become rote and depersonalized to a large degree. Now, it's far too much like the human medical system to please me.
