Default Do you trust veterinarians?

I apologize in advance if this becomes an inflammatory question, it really isn't meant to be.

It seems to me like I see a lot of distrust of vets in this forum, and that really surprises me. It seems like a lot of people don't trust their knowledge, and even more think they are greedy and/or dishonest.

I have always thought that veterinary medicine is a noble profession, and simply does not attract money grubbers. It is too hard to become a vet and there's not enough money in it for someone not to go into the field for the wrong reasons. I believe people become vets because they are passionate about animals, and I believe it's a very difficult profession. A normal doctor knows about the human body. A vet must know multiple species, and they have the added challenge of working with patients who can't tell them what's wrong.

Do you agree or disagree? Why do you feel the way you do?
