After much discussion with my boyfriend and family we have decided to keep Liloh. Instead of punishing ourselves and our dog we are going to spend more time training my kids. What a concept huh. Its kinda hard for me though for I was always raised with kids and am not quite sure what I am doing wrong with my own children.
My 8 year old has promised to make sure to help protect our furry bundle and my 4 year old, well Im still trying to figure out how to train her. If anyone has any ideas to help me with this undertaking or any advice I would love to hear it. Thank you so much.
PS
We have some close friends who have offered to take care of her if it doesnt get any better. |
I'm glad you have decided to keep her. You have to teach children from a very young age to respect animals, if they get too rough with her, put the kids in a time out. My daughter did teach my oldest two g-kids(the new one is only 4 mos) to respect dogs. They are now 10 and 6 and I have 5 little ones I have no problem leaving my g-kids around(my smallest dog at almost a year is not even 3 lbs). The only problem with the 6 year old is she is always wanting to love on them and hold them, and the dogs like to be left alone.
