We looked for 5 months in shelters as far as 2 hours away before we found Teddy. He was in a shelter in a neighboring county. I checked Petfinder everyday and called them the minute I saw him. He was turned in on a Monday and I adopted him the following Wednesday. So don't give up, keep checking and then be fast when you see one you want to meet.
