Like the others have said, just give her a little time to settle in. Gracie Ruth wasn't really into the whole cuddle/petting thing at first either but now she'll whine pitifully if I won't pick her up and cuddle her sometimes. If she's happy sitting on your lap, then that's what I'd do and give her a treat or two and some praise. Also, with G at first, she liked to be scratched more then stroked. So I used that to start forming the bond.

As for the grooming, well, none of mine 'like' it, but they have all learned to be good during it. Short sessions with lots of treats & praise, being very careful to not pull the hair will do the trick. It took G & Yogi about 6 months to accept it.
